The SBCMS Young Physicians Committee (YPS) teamed up for a recent Walk-A-Thon & Health Fair.  The physicians joined several other local community organizations at the Anne Shirrell Park in San Bernardino on Saturday morning, September 25.  The event was sponsored by the San Bernardino Valley Chapter of The Links, Inc. 

      The YPS Committee focus for this year's Health Fair was organ donation awareness.  YPS members passed out educational information and recruited organ and tissue donors.  This was the third year the YPS took part in this project.  The YPS was recently recognized by the AMA for their participation at last year's event, receiving the 1999 Community Service Award.

      Dr. Lisa Perry-Gilkes, an otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, chairs this very active group of young physicians who are dedicated to improving the community's health.
